SEO explained

Digital marketing

So, you're not on top of Google? Do not despair. It has nothing to do with your company's size or your turnover. Your search engine ranking depends entirely on how your website is perceived by the search engines. Search engine optimization is when you customize your site based on some important parameters search engines use as part of their algorithms. An algorithm is the formula that determines how well your landing page corresponds to the user's question. By optimizing your site with the search engine's way of ranking in mind, your visibility in search results will significantly improve.

3.5 billion a day

Every day, more than 3.5 billion searches on Google worldwide occur, about 40,000 searches per second! We use search engines to find information and inspiration at home, at work, on the bus and wherever we bring our mobile phone. We quickly google the right answer in a discussion with friends as well as do research before buying with the help of search engines.

82% of smartphone users consult their phone when they are in the store and are about to make a purchase. It might be questions about which product is best or if the price is better elsewhere. 90% of smartphone users are also not sure on what brand they want to buy when they start researching the internet. Appearing online is therefore the key to success, no matter what type of services or products you offer.

Search engine optimization has several parts but simplified we often talk about 2 things: On-Page SEO and Off-page SEO.

We often talk about (search engine) optimization but it should be called visitor optimization.

On-Page SEO - How relevant are you?

There are a number of technical SEO practices that create the conditions for content on your site to impact its ranking positively. See it as a foundation to build your empire on, properly executed, it helps search engines and visitors understand the content of the page and assess the relevance. We often talk about (search engine) optimization but it should be called visitor optimization for what it's all about is how relevant your page is to the question, how well your content answers the question that the visitor asked and how smoothly the visitor found the answer.

Off-Page SEO - Do you have any references?

In order for a search engine to quickly and easily calculate the relevance of your site, it will look up your references. It analyzes what other digital media such as social platforms, distributors, forums or review sites says about the links that lead to you. The more references you have the more credible, the search engine considers your answer to the question.
